Sonchaux, situated at 1040 meters with a transition of less than 2000 meters, is a not-too-busy site. 

One significant advantage is the absence of thermal wind in the evolution box, alleviating a major concern for pilots.

Program and Organization:

The day before the SIV, we organize a general, safety, and educational briefing. It is imperative to be present at this briefing, which typically starts at 5:00 p.m. at Air Turquoise SA in Villeneuve.

Agenda:

  • Administration and disclaimer
  • Introduction of each participant, with an exchange of experiences
  • General briefing with video presentations and didactic panels
  • Rescue parachute extraction check on a gantry by our specialists
  • Distribution of life jackets, earphones, and waterproof pockets for radios
  • Presentation of the landing area
  • Weather overview
  • The briefing concludes around 9:00 p.m.

Day 1 (Indicative Program, Subject to Weather and Other Conditions):

Morning meeting time, prearranged during the briefing, around 7:30 a.m. at Air Turquoise SA in Villeneuve.

  • Enjoy coffee and croissants while receiving the final briefing on the day's flights.
  • Three flights from Sonchaux.
  • Debriefing.

Day 2 (Informative Program, Subject to Weather and Other Factors):

Morning meeting time, prearranged during the briefing, around 7:30 a.m. at Air Turquoise SA in Villeneuve.

  • Enjoy coffee and croissants while receiving the final briefing on the day's flights.
  • Two flights, including a reserve parachute opening on the last flight.
  • Aperitif and video debriefing.

Don't forget to bring spare clothes in case of an unexpected swim :-)
